Sahara Power Group, owners of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) and Egbin Power Station also in Lagos has employed 107 young graduate engineers and sent them for an intensive training programme, which will be facilitated by the National Power Training Institute (NAPTIN).

The young engineers, some of whom were sourced from the host communities where the subsidiary companies operate will commence a rigorous training programme that will equip them for their roles in IKEDC, Egbin and First Independent Power Limited (FIPL).

Speaking yesterday at the induction ceremony for the recruited engineers, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sahara Power, Mr Kola Adesina said that the exercise was in line with the robust human capital development policy of Sahara Power aimed at ensuring enhanced capacity and seamless employee succession through knowledge transfer.
