Independent Sysytem Operator MD Allegedly Resigns Over Protracted TCN Dispute

The Managing Director, (Independent System Operator) of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mrs. Veronica Osuhor, has allegedly resigned her appointment following a protracted dispute among key leaders in Manitoba Hydro International Limited (MHIL), the Canadian management contractor of the TCN and the Nigerian counterpart of the TCN management, ThisDay reports.

Osuhor who still has three and half years left from her four-year tenure, allegedly stated in her resignation letter addressed to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, that she opted to resign “following a recent directive which indicates that my current role will be to understudy a MHIL-designate at a lower level”.

Osuhor, who was appointed the Managing Director (ISO) of the TCN, in May 2015, was recently directed to revert to her former status as Director. It was learnt that the reversal order also affected 29 new executives of the unbundled TCN comprising the Transmission Service Provider (TSP). ‎
