The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC) has been called upon to accord priority to electricity supply to military formations, especially the Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna, to enhance operational efficiency of the service.
The commander, Nigerian Air Force 335 Base Service Group, Kaduna, Air Commodore Bello Garba, made the request when he paid a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of the company, yesterday, according to a statement by its spokesman, Abdulazeez Abdullahi.
Garba disclosed that the Nigerian Air Force is actively involved in Operation Lafiya Dole in the North East, Operation Save Haven in Jos, Plateau State, and Operation Sharan Daji in parts of Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara and Niger states. He added that the NAF Base Kaduna is providing air and ground supports to the fighters involved in the three operations.
He underscores the strategic importance of Kaduna Electric to the success of their operations, saying ‘’The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company is of great importance to the success of these and all other operations the Nigerian Airforce is involved, hence the visit.”
While appealing to the managing director of Kaduna Electric to place the NAF 335 Base Service Group on the top list of its priority customers in terms of power distribution to enable it remain combat ready round the clock, he assured the company of the Airforce’s determination to live up to its own side of the bargain.
In his remarks, managing director of Kaduna Electric, Eng. Garba Haruna, who spoke through the Chief Marketing and Customers Services Officer, Mallam Murtala Bello, commended the commander for the visit and assured him of the company’s resolve to strengthen the strategic business partnership existing between Kaduna Electric and the Airforce Base.
