Respite came the way of the people of Umuezeoha communities in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State as the member representing, Ezza North/ Ishielu federal constituency, Anayo Nwonu, restored electricity to the community after six years of blackout. This came barely three months after he had empowered his constituents with various skills acquisition tools in the state.
The people noted that the power outage was as a result of vandalism of electricity transformers in the area by some miscreants, which prompted the lawmaker, Nwonu to in-tervene. Speaking on the issue, Nwonu said he was moved to embark on the project based on the need for the community to feel the impact of the present democratic dispensation.
Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Ekka community in Ezza North Local Government Area, Chief Ezeogo Fidelis Ekechi, has said before the installation of transformers in the area that his community was in total blackout for six years without any intervention from any person.
He appreciated Nwonu for the provision of new electricity transformers and expressed the readiness of youths in the area to protect the transformers from the activities of vandals.
