The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), yesterday, said that poor  power supply in Nigeria is seriously affecting the manufacturing sector and compelled it to partner with independent power developers to develop small capacity independent power projects (IPPs) in its industrial clusters in the country

The Vice President, North-west Zone of MAN,  Engr. Ibrahim Usman, speaking during the signing of the MoU on land for the proposed MAN independent power project in Lagos, said that small scale IPPs were faster to implement and cheaper to maintain.

“The project will begin with pilot schemes that will enable MAN gain firsthand experience and later strategise to explore other options in the power mix like solar, wind, waste-to-energy and biomass in capacities between 5MW and 15MW,” Usman said.
