The Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kuje, Mrs. Onyeogu Kelechi, has cautioned residents and officials of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) against creating situation capable of causing break down of law and order in the area.

Speaking at a stakeholders forum on the protection of critical infrastructures and anti-vandalism on Tuesday, Kelechi stressed the need for both residents and AEDC officials to dialogue and resolve their differences.

She said that the stakeholders forum was organised by the division to address the incessant clashes between residents and AEDC officials, brainstorm and sensitise stakeholders in the area on the need to protect government facilities and national assets.

“I don’t think it is ideal to allow some unscrupulous elements to take advantage of the constant creation of scenes by residents and AEDC officials to truncate the peace and tranquility being enjoyed in Kuje,” she said.

Also speaking, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, said that his administration would partner with security agencies to ensure safety of lives and property of residents.

He commended the NSCDC in the area for organising the stakeholders forum, urging participants to educate people of their communities.
