Vandals of electrical installations have thrown Minna, the Niger State capital into complete blackout as they were said to have removed valuable items from not less than 50 electric transformers by cutting the armored cable connecting electricity to these transformers in addition to cutting and stealing electric cables
Following the activities of these vandals, the state capital and its environs had been thrown into complete blackout for three days running. As a result, business and commercial activities dependent on electricity have been paralysed.
The situation has been worsened by poor supply of electricity from the national grid. The Area Manager of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Mr. Ahmed Baro, however declined to comment on the situation.
