The Chief Operating Officer, Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Mr. Rahul Singh said Thursday that non-payment of bills by customers has contributed so much to the low electricity distribution in the state, The Tide reports.
The KEDCO’s Chief Operating Officer, made this disclosure during the company’s first quarter customers’ consultation forum held in Kano. According to him, one of the major challenges facing the company in terms of the low distribution of electricity in their catchment areas is the non-payment of electricity bills by the customers.
”The non-payment of the bills has contributed so much towards the low distribution of the electricity supply in those three states under our jurisdiction,” Singh added. The operating officer identified other challenges faced by the company as the illegal connections of electricity and the activities of vandals on transformers and cables.
