Country currently generates a third of its capacity due to insufficient gas supply, Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola says on Channels Television.

At least 5 power plants including Egbin, the country’s biggest, are not getting enough gas because the key Escravos-Lagos supply pipeline is out due to vandalism.

Power output was 2,900 megawatts two years ago when the current administration came into power

Nigeria has 12,000 megawatts of installed capacity; transmission is limited by incomplete power transmission projects across the country.
