TCN Sustains 30 Megawatts Power Supply in Jos, Others After Fire

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has sustained the supply of 30 megawatts (mw) of electricity across Jos and its environs through another transformer after its twin was burnt last Tuesday, Daily Trust reports.

The General Manager (Public Affairs), Mrs Ndidi Mbah, in a statement yesterday said their engineers isolated the burning 150MVA, 330/132/33 kilovolt (kv) transformer from other energized parts of the substation, and quickly saved the second transformer.

Six hours after the incidence, the engineers restored the 330kV Gombe transmission line and re-energized the second transformer supplying distribution load centres in Jos, she said.
