The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has appealed for the understanding and cooperation of its customers in Abeokuta and environs for the disruption they will experience in electricity supply over the coming months, The Punch reports.
The IBEDC said in a statement that the Transmission Company of Nigeria would embark on infrastructural and equipment upgrade at the Abeokuta 132/33KV Transmission Station, Ojere, Abeokuta, Ogun State. “This exercise, aimed at improving the supply of electricity to Abeokuta and its environs, is expected to last for some months,” it added.
The company said during the period, all its customers on the affected transformers would be receiving power supply from the other 30MVA (T1) transformer. It, however, said, “Since this measure cannot accommodate all the required power demand of our customers, there will be massive load shedding of supply during this period. However, we shall ensure equitable hours of electricity supply pending the time the project is completed.”
