As residents of several communities in Isolo and Ejigbo areas of Lagos lament a blackout for the past three months, the interim Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mr. Usman Muhammed, has said work on Ejigbo transformer and others will be completed before the end of March, The Punch reports.
“We have already upgraded one transformer. We are upgrading the second one; that is what we are doing. All of them will be completed before March 31,” he said. The development followed the upgrade of the TCN’s transformer at Ejigbo, which has not been completed.
The Head, Corporate Communications, Ikeja Electric, Mr. Felix Ofulue, indicated that the company was distributing to the communities the little energy it was getting from the Ejigbo substation, adding that the residents would have a better supply after the completion of the upgrade of the facility.
