133/33kv Generation Sub-Station Commissioned in Edo


Okada community and Igbinedion University will now heave a sigh of relief as the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP), has commissioned a 133/33KV Generation Sub-Station in Okada, the headquarters of Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.

 Commissioning the power project, the team leader, Engr. Claudius Ademuyiwa, said the completion of the sub-station would improve the standard of living in Okada community and its environs as direct beneficiaries of the project.

He commended MBH Power Limited, DextonT.C.N, ISO for the effort in the completion of the project.

 The Safety Project Manager (project consultant), Engr. Issac Olawore, who designed the project in 2006, said the sub-station had six feeders and a capacity for four more feeders.

He explained that the sub- station covered 300 square meters with the aim of serving Igbinedion University, Okada community, companies in the neighbouring states and even some companies in Benin City.

Olawore noted that with the commissioning of the sub- station, Igbinedion University and the Okada community as whole are now sure of at least 12 hours of power supply daily.
