The Managing Director of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Engr. Peter Ewesor said the agency has inspected 5,037 new power projects and certified 4,138 while 899 others await rectification of defects since it began operation in 2013, Daily Trust reports.
Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja, he said to ensure that accurate meters are installed for electricity customers, NEMSA tested 64,222 meters from which 63,942 meters passed, and 280 failed the test.
He also revealed that a court siting in Kaduna had convicted four persons who forged a NEMSA certification which they presented to Kaduna Electric to energise a dangerous network in Kaduna metropolis.
