The tripping of Odukpani-Ikot Ekpene 330KV line has resulted in a major disruption of power generation from the Odukpani Power Station to the national grid.

TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said contractors had been engaged to restore the grid and rebuild the affected segment of the Western Gas Pipeline (WGP), to enable a restoration of gas supply to Omotosho, Egbin and Olorunsogo I and II.

It explained that with the support of the ministries of power, works, housing, and finance, it has embarked on the implementation of Transmission Rehabilitation and Expansion Programme (TREP) that seeks to expand, rehabilitate and stabilise the national grid.

Mbah, who appealed to electricity consumers in the affected area to be patient, said investigations are ongoing to unravel the cause of the problem.
